At Eggum in Vestvågøy municipality in Nordland (Lofoten).
Follow E10 north from Leknes. After about 14 km (16 min) turn left onto road 994 to Eggum. Drive through Eggum, and further out to the parking lot at Borga (Kvalhausen).
"Borga" is the local name of a German radar station that was built during World War II just outside the settlement on Eggum. The radar station is shaped like a circle, and is built of pebble that is taken from the shoreline in the area. Inside the castle are the remains of the radar itself. The radar was very important for the Germans during the monitoring of the Murmansk convoys.
Just below the radar station there is a service house with a larger circular rest area in front. Eggum nature reserve is located west of the radar station. You will also find a "Hode(Head)" which is Vestvågøy municipality's contribution to the sculpture landscape Nordland.
Very easy. There is a road all the way, and there are good parking spaces on site.
