Park at the sports hall at Leknes. The trail goes right past the parking lot.
Follow the E10 to Leknes. Turn left at the first roundabout (at the mall), and to the left in the next intersection. Drive straight into the road "Myrstien". Then turn right (onto the road "Sentralbaneveien") until you are in the parking lot behind the sports hall.
The trail is prepared right up to the water where the hut/gamme is located. Gammen is on the other side of the water. At the first third of the trip you pass two beautiful shelters/gapahuker. The first one is located right by the trail. The other is about 100 meters away from the trail. The next third of the trail goes through a just slightly higher but more open terrain. On the last part up to the water there is some increase (about 150 altitude meters).
The scenery in Lofoten, with the steep mountains going right down an into the sea, makes you feel you are high in the mountains. Even when you are only 100 meters above sea level. The last two thirds of the trip up to the hut/gamme provide the best natur experiences. Getting to a nice, warm and cosy hut/gamme in the mountains is very good. Especially when the weather, which can change quickly, offers wind and snow. The trip is recommended. It's a relatively easy trip that offers great natural experiences.
It is not a particularly demanding trip. The slopes down from the mountain have good trails, and plenty of space to plow down if you wish. The trip up to the Hut/Gammen is about 7.3 km, with just over 200 m altitude difference, taking about 2.5 hours.
